I keep my emotions balanced with: Meditation, breathwork, kundalini, being open and honest about what emotionally shows up, sharing my feelings, conscious communication, dancing and taking time for myself. Silence to truly listen.
I’m intellectually stimulated by: I’m actually currently studying philosophy, so I’m reading a lot. I listen to audiobooks and podcasts too. Recently, I fell in love with Esther Perel’s podcast, Where Should We Begin?. I also get stimulated by talking to my partner and friends.
Being an absolute nature freak, I recently started to investigate ways to minimize my own impact and what I can do to support environmental efforts. I loved the documentary, Before The Flood. It woke me up big time.
I was recently transformed by: The tradition of “Cha Dao.” I went on an incredible silent training/retreat in the Pyrenees last year—hiking, vipassana-style mediation and diving deeper into the ceremonial way of serving tea. It transformed my connection to nature. (The organization is called Global Tea Hut.)
In the last six months, the ritual that has become so important for me is:
My ritual in the morning is preparing a tea ceremony for myself and then sitting in meditation. Sometimes, I will include some different breathing techniques, depending on how I feel. I also have my own movement routine that is very important to me: thirty minutes of a mixture of cardio, stretch and strength training.
