My name is: Kelly Liken.
I’m known for being: three-time James Beard Best Chef nominee, Top Chef and Iron Chef alum, and current chef/owner of Harvest by Kelly Liken in Edwards, Colorado.
I'm helping to launch: a culinary wellness series that uses the essential elements of earth, water and fire for inspiration, incorporating each to complement movement, nutrition and cuisine. Each experience is geared towards inspiring the mind, nourishing the body and feeding one’s appetite, while demonstrating how the various aspects affect everyday life.
You can find it at: Harvest by Kelly Liken in the Sonnenalp Club in Edwards, Colorado from 4pm-6pm on January 25, 2017 (Earth); February 22, 2017 (Water); and March 22, 2017 (Fire).
What makes it special is: Each event begins with 45 minutes of yoga and meditation taught by renowned yogi Suzanne Oliver, concentrating on one of the three elements. After the class, guests hear a talk from Ashley Eaves—certified nutritionist, dietitian and intuitive coach—about how the element affects the body. Guests then enjoy inspired cuisine created by Chef Kelly Liken, comprised of ingredients chosen by Eaves, from a customized menu that stimulates the appetite while interpreting the components of each element through a culinary lens.
One thing you can’t miss: The “Elemental” cocktails! We’ll be concocting both alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails representing each element to pair with the food; they are not to be missed!
