The Fix: Shane Wolf

My name is: Shane Wolf.

I’m known as: “founding farmhand” at Seed Phytonutrients. No really, that’s my title! 

My expertise is in: I’m a hairdresser and haircare product developer turned natural and sustainability warrior. 

I stay physically healthy with: My trainer Jonathan Munoz at Equinox. He has the patience of a saint!

I keep my emotions balanced with: A Cire Trudon Spiritus Sancti candle, calming piano music and my mala beads. 

I’m intellectually stimulated by: A good debate with a complimentary colleague, who has the same values but unique perspectives.

I was recently transformed by: A visit to a water treatment plant! Seriously. The methane that is coming off of these plants and from landfills can be captured and made into organic materials. It could be the end of plastics! Given how many of these initiatives are being started by super smart women, I am more convinced than ever that “The Future Is Female”! 

In the last six months, the ritual that has become so important for me is: Balance is critical for me to sustain my pace. Meditation in the morning, followed by a cup of Fortnum & Mason English Breakfast Tea (no fancy scented stuff for me, thank you). Then a run or training session. Then, all hell breaks loose! And I love every minute of it. The stimulation, the creativity, the dreaming and daring. I love it all. Of course, by evening, it is time for a novel and a glass of wine to come back to earth!

Here’s how you can do it too: I have a personal mantra that I learned early in my career: “Think, believe, dream, dare.”

It helps me live my process because: Being a naturally robust personality type, I am always “all in” and “on.” My team calls it, “Shane Theatre!” Harnessing my passion, energy, determination and ambition is not, therefore, natural. But, to leverage these traits and to turn them into action, I need to be focused. I get this focus largely from my process. The discipline to embark consistently on a journey of daily meditation, inward reflection and quiet prayer helps prepare me for the day, so that I make the most of every opportunity.
