Kayla Jacobs was born in London to hippy(ish) South African parents: a mother who would rub a mix of essential oils on her temples before school each morning and a father who would help her concoct homemade lip balms and scrubs on the weekend. She studied Mandarin, French and Italian at university before jumping ship to pursue a career as a beauty and health writer. With extensive editorial featured in Vogue, Tatler, Glamour, Conde Nast Traveller and Refinery29, she also has her own blog, Kayla's Thread, a curation of musings on all things health, wellbeing, beauty, travel, jewels, and textiles. Since moving to New York this summer, she has started mixing bespoke perfume oil blends that are currently made-to-order only.
MY PROCESS: “Climbing to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro was the most arduous and poignant process of my life and will forever mark for me a change in the kind of journey I want to take. Run free, be open to every possibility, and the world really will be your oyster.”
